Subject: Corn burn down?

NE, NE
So most years we just plant our corn no till and follow with sprayer using roughly 35 gal 32%uan and our resicore, round up, and a growth regulator either 2-4d or dicamba. Usually all works well, but the downy brome usually only gets knocked back as the fert. Burns it too quick before the roundup can work. This years conditions has favored the downy brome and we’re thinking of going out now and spraying our roundup and herbicides with just water as the carrier to get this stuff killed and then follow the planter with another pass for the fertilizer. It sucks, but unless someone has different thoughts I’m afraid that’s what it’ll take. Anybody had luck maybe only using 10 gal of 32 as the carrier or will it still burn too bad for the round up to work.
