Iowa | Have had a tigermate field cultivator with knock-on sweeps since 2013.
I have always changed sweeps by one well placed hammer hit on the "shank" of the sweep to get them off/ slide the new one on as far as it will go/ then smack the point of the sweep a few times with the hammer.
Today while installing a new one a metal shard about a 1/2" long came off and stuck in my forehead. A magnet pulled it right out but had it been in my eye it would have been real bad.
Heard the theme song from Cat's "shake hands with danger" in my head when it happened. I'm going to dig out my safety glasses and ponder a better way to do it next time.
