Subject: RE: So why do sales have to occur this summer then?

S Illinois
The vast majority of places that primarily grow corn and beans will need to make room as total storage is only 1.1-1.2 times a normal crop. Even this past year it took time to move and use some of the new crop before the whole crop could be put away.

Shrink is in feed and residual. Once accounted for the first year of reporting shrink wouldn’t vary much year to year. In those growing seasons where grain quality is poorer, feed usage will increase both in terms of corn actually needed for similar weight gain in the animals and for higher handling losses.

What % of KS dryland corn is east of say I-35/I-135, Rt 81. They are definitely planting there and have plenty of moisture to get a good stand.
