Thanks for all the replies. Everyone agreed that I need it. No one commented on the fact that the liability insurance is already included with my policy and am also paying my share of the partnership's, all for the same property.
I would think about it as who has an insurable interest in the non farm part of the farm. It would think your sisters have an insurable interest in the house that could be different than what your insurable interest is. Your policy won’t indemnify them. So, if someone has a claim on the portion of the farm that extends past your farming interest, then there needs to be insurance coverage for them. JMO |
