I was a freshman in high school, friend of mine lost their house, him and his Mom saw it coming, got to the basement before ripping the roof off. They were fine, had a very small and short lived one touch down right behind our house while I was outside, things happened fast, didn't hit our house but I can still see it today. That was a long evening and night, as scared as ever been. Dayton Ohio TV station had a really good program on this week about manly the Xenia one and how the outbreak changed so much as to finding better radar and so on. Just so little knew at the time, your phone is most likely better today than what they had then. That was such a terrifying day and evening around here, you just know so much more now.

I wholly believe that Gil Whitney saved a lot of lives that day. And not just him, but he's the one that stands out. I think those guys did an amazing job for what the technology was at the time.
