NorthWest Indiana | Merlin Jones, believe that is the name. Bigger guy. Thought he was owner/part owner. Yes, Elmer, met him through Max Wymer, baled a lot of hay with Max and his son. Gentlemen, I have enjoyed this reminiscing. Spent some time in that Allis showroom. Last story, day I interviewed with the principal for the job I went to the Modoc Cafe (the old DQ across from Shore's). Figured every little town had a group of men that met for lunch and it was my lucky day, Merlin, Homer Owens, Steve from the bank, Mr. Cates and his sons all sat down so before I left I went over and introduced myself and told them what I was doing and if they heard my name come up they could put a face with it. Oh Harry Tarrel (sp?) insurance guy was there also. The rest is history, 2 of them at that table were on the school board and I was hired. Enjoyed every minute at Modoc. Thank you for the trip down memory lane. My email is in my interest/profile. Don't want to hijack your thread further.
