I’d say it depends on how many years you’ve used covers. From what I’ve seen the amount of N recovered by the cash crop isn’t very much the first year after rye. But goes up drastically after that. I normally just apply potash when I plant rye in the fall but this year I had hog manure applied. There’s definitely a difference in the size of where manure was applied vs. just potash. Hopefully it will lead to some 300+ bu. corn this fall.
