Do you need the physical grain?
If not, why have the hassle of maintaining and managing the grain? Sell it and deliver it on a basis that you like and a time that is convenient for you (late summer is usually very strong basis around me) and then buy it back on the board.
It is very achievable to store grain longer than a year, but if you don't need the physical bushels... why?
