Yes, I did it for several years, pulled mine with a 8130, then upgraded to an 8235R (not much bigger) and both did just fine, was never in a situtation where more HP would have been needed just for planter to plant at normal (non high speed) applications, without a fertilizer coulter running in the ground I think HP requirments are reduced by 10-15% or more right there,
