Subject: Not all things are normal..

Eastern NE KS
Had a calf born with little hair. BW 72 - seems full term. I fail to inspect the placenta for missing hair?. 1st pix is at 12 hours. 2nd is on day 3 today. She is growing hair under a calf blanket. Her head in pix 1 is like she was all over her body. She is a survivor, so far... I have removed the blanket at morning check and put it on the evening. She also received a Vitamin ADE shot. Her skin is tender and dry now. Seems like everything abraids it. Saw her pee this evening. Nights are around 32*f. Tomorrow wet weather.

This is the cows 8th calf and third from this calf's sire. All normal until this one. My vet says see if she will grow hair. He like the blanket idea.
