Subject: Brisket board for deep sand freestalls

northeastern Ohio
Built a new freestall barn last year with deep sand. 100% Jerseys but I decided to go with 8' stalls head to head (16' curb to curb) to give more lunge room..... Too much lunge room.

Didn't install a brisket. I thought a pile of sand in the middle would sufice.... Nope, they lay right on it.

So the cows are laying too far forward. Neck rail doesn't seem to deter them.

Had a brisket in the old barn. Simply a 2x8 fastened to the wood post at a 45 degree angle. It worked but eventually the wood broke/rotted/came apart.

Priced a brisket that attaches to the freestall. 4 or 5 inch poly pipe. $60 per stall..... ouch. 300 stalls = $18k....

Any other options?
