Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot
I’d take a day and mess around Sedona. Oak Creek Canyon is cool, Montezuma Well, then spend the night in Tusayan or Flagstaff. I’d lean towards the latter. It’s possible to get a room at the Grand Canyon, last time we were on the South rim we booked a room only a few hours before we got there. Granted it was November, still wasn’t cheap, but being able to watch the sunrise and sunset from the room was well worth it.

I prefer the North Rim, but it’s a much longer drive and isn’t open usually until May or June due to the amount of snow they get there.

Zion NP, Cedar Breaks and Bryce Canyon are all on the north side. Most beautiful place in the country, but it’s a half day drive from Phoenix just to get there.
