NW Ohio | Becks was one of the first, if not the first, to sell bean seed by seed count. They started at 130k and haven’t changed. If I want to shop strictly on price I can go to an independent local such as Pond, Wellman or others, and get quality seed and competitive yields.
Becks generally recommends 120-145k for population. Another guy I’ve bought from says 170k. One thing Becks does very well, better than others in my opinion, is understanding the characteristics and management of specific varieties and hybrids. | |
