history tells us that within a year of a new high the fat market will drop over 20% and within 2 years drop 40% from the high. Its not the fats in the yard that are at risk, its the replacements your going to buy and the fall 2024 and winter 2025 market at over 1.90/lbs making projections look profitable. The packer will crush the cattle feeder within the next 12 months be prepared.

Those sitting on the side line are called a bunch of names for not having any feeders currently.

I don’t work for 3% or less or even a loss. I used to make $500 a head on freezer beef. Not gonna do it for $100 or even a loss
