southern MN | It’s March so it’s not really a big deal. Back in the 90s we had a wierd deal where my fields were almost dry enough to plant, but I was busy helping sandbag in town as the snowmelt upstream was letting loose all at once and causing flooding in the river valley. That made for odd headlines that spring. Farmer in the fields early for a change, record flooding at the same time.
Anyhow, the interesting part of your maps is the dry areas in 2024 is good farm land that has not so much irrigation. The 2023 map had the dry zones in areas that are nearly fully irrigated. If trends continue that could make a bit of difference.
But as others say, it is March. as dry as it seems here in my neighborhood, my tile lines are running. See what develops.
