Top middle of MO. land of green hills and grass | Looking for crowded drive fast route or decent drive?
I-35 thru Dallas and 45 on to Houston is a hammer down trip from a ways north of Dallas until you park in Houston.
At a minimum, I’d avoid I-35
From KC south, I-49 to Joplin, then skip the toll to get to 69 hwy to Muskogee, then 75 to Dallas.
If you want off the beaten path a bit, and avoid Dallas entirely, I-49 to Ft Smith, then 59/259 on isn’t bad. Lots of little towns to slow down for. Ran into a neat little hole in wall Mexican restaurant in Nacogdoches that I’d eat at again if I’m passing thru… |
