NE Iowa | My wife and I just spent several days down there in January. Our highlights:
Grand Ole Opry
Nashville Palace (just North of the Opry) - think it might be more of a local hangout.
Downtown HonkyTonks - we only ducked into 1 (Johnny Cash's place) - I wish we could've spent more time down there.
The Ryman.
Andrew Jackson's Hermitage
The Parthenon was kind of cool - especially all the history of the International Exposition.
We did the HopOn/HopOff bus - guess it was ok since we only had a few days and got to cover a lot of different areas, but I wouldn't do that again.
The whole time we were there, it was raining and we were there midweek. This meant there was hardly anyone around - that was nice. Hate crowds. If we go back, it will be mid-week and we will spend the day going from HonkyTonk to HonkyTonk. They all start the live music around 10 or 11 AM. | |
