Coastal South Carolina | The farm I live on has several of those. The ones here were put up in the late 70's. We talked with the crew putting them in. They actually built towers and put lights on them. They would come back at night and measure elevations from neighboring towers with lights on them, thus establishing elevations from sea level. I can remember where three of them were placed, only one has survived.
We were told in the 90's we could move them. | |
