Just outside downtown Prairie Hill | I watched a lot of utube videos to get started. I send my mature samples to Earthfort Labs in Oregon to get counts. My opinion is good quality compost is night and day better than raw manure. I would suggest taking a fairly small amount and experimenting with different methods. My first purchase was long thermometers they have a 3' stem so you can get the internal temperature. Keep a log of temps every few days 2-3. You need to get above 130 F for a few days to kill the weed seed. When temp comes back down, turn it again....it should climb again. In a few turns it will not go up again. This is getting to the mature stage. Like I said...fun with poo. Really pretty neat to see strawy manure turn into pretty much potting soil in a few months. |
