West Central IA | Mob graze for short periods of time. Let them out only when it is dry, feed in the lot the rest of the time. You will allow your grass to recover and with mob grazing you get them back off in just a few days. Don't be afraid to use bedding in the dry lot. I do this with 35 pairs on a 18 acre pasture. With the drought last year they spent more time off the pasture than in, but I don't have dead spots to show for it either. | |
