This year, because I am in the part of Iowa that is still red, and little to no subsoil moisture, it is in place.
It is expensive, as is all crop insurance. Every year I look for reasons not to carry, and every year the answer is the same, but all I can write the check for and do everything I can to not collect— the recipe for profitability remains constant.
