northeast ohio
We’re going into our fifth season using Trimble NextSwath. Initially unlocked a XCN2050 when our New Holland / Trimble dealer offered a rebate $700 rebate ($1700+ unlock). Doing that as well as converting the EZPilot to autopilot motor drive (AMPD) seemed like a tremendous expense for a farm with ~750 tillable acres. In reality, those two upgrades probably paid for themselves that year through timely planting and potentially less repairs. I was able to get fields setup for the day before work and dad planted significantly more acres than previous years.

Probably use NextSwath 70% of the time with the exception being in field with sharp headland angles. Apparently there is a “test pilot” version for GFX displays that incorporates boundary characteristics into the turn generation pattern. Overall, really like NextSwath for 12 row planting, 15’ seeding and fertilizer application. Unlocked a second TMX display on our tractor the pulls 80’ sprayer. Find myself accepting the NextSwath turns far less when spraying than anticipated but really like how the AMPD with TruSwath brings the sprayer online from headland to any type AB line.

If the AL is anything like Trimble, then accuracy in your headland boundaries along with precise vehicle and implement measurements are essential to a great experience.
