Milford, IL | If the computers are usable or could be donated to a worthy cause or curious youngster, boot the machine and run DBAN. This software only works properly on IDE and SATA spinning disk drives - it will not work properly on SSD or flash drives.
When in doubt, mechanically destroy the hard drive as you mention above, the remaining hardware will not contain personal data and could be reused by others if you feel it is appropriate.
I don't know how to securely wipe tablets, kindles, cell phones, etc except burn pile like Walton farms suggests. | |
