That far west it’s gonna take good rain. If it doesn’t gonna be a lot of blowing that will affect cover.
Even with rain tonnage won’t be as good missing thatch the first year BUT it will be improved range long term. Reducing brush/cedars any kind of trees helps the water cycle in arid country.
The plains were formed by fire. Springs have improved since killing trees here from fire.
