North Central Kansas | Feel bad for everyone involved. Hopefully nobody loses their lives in them. When that cold front came through here it switched fast and the wind came out of the North hard. Watching some of the satellite videos you can see that when the cold front hit the fires exploded in size rapidly. They were burning it looked like a West to East line. This created a huge fire line when the wind switched. The wind will have to die down before they can even attempt to contain it.
I can't remember if that area had good rainfall last summer. From the pictures it looks like the grass is pretty tall. It also looks like some rough country. | |
