Southeast Colorado | I went to VoTech school long ago fresh out of high school. They had a blood drive and we all signed up. Only one guy in my class had ever given blood and was acting pretty tough about it...........while most of us were a tad apprehensive, while not trying to admit it. He boldly went first............and literally went into seizures of some sort right in front of our eyes! Never was sure what that was all about, but they got him through it and all was OK.
Most of us went ahead and donated, but a few backed out. I got pretty dizzy and white and had to lay there for 15 or 20 minutes when done. I think I'd have been OK, but the staff acted really concerned about the way I was looking, so they worried me more than the event. Anyway...........I haven't donated since then. I've gotten better at blood testing draws, but still am not great today. | |
