Didn't watch the video, but I've heard the concern is more about where the land is, not as much the amounts?
The ground near the army base in the Dakotas comes to mind...
Land buying by foreign nationals can be so tricky to track. Open a land investment business in NY, fund it from off shore accounts and it looks like it's bought from the US even though it's funded from abroad (the big alfalfa farm in Arizona owned by Saudi money comes to mind...)
All that said, I know there are a couple investment company options for US folks to buy land overseas as well... hard to have your cake and eat it too I guess. Not to mention getting second passports to other countries and buying residential real estate...
yeah, he doesn't really talk about the locations next to military bases.
I don't disagree with his comments in general, but there are specific cases that might be different. |
