sw ontario | 90% advance would be pretty generous and risky for elevator.
I am sure some elevators,farmers and traders are getting some big margin calls.
I have not seen it in a contract but there was talk about having owner of grains (farmer) cover the margin if acc't goes negative
For those that remember the big Feb/Mar 2008 run up in wheat a LOT of elevators was running out of margin money and only 1 here would write any NC contracts...
Even in '23 Srww cash/contracts traded from above $14 to $6cdn. | |
