Most elevators offer 70% around here so they are still ok. I’m guessing most get rolled into this carry.
Everything you say makes sense to me except the part about using this “trick” to buy some grain. What’s in for the elevator to force a futures sale? They already bought the grain on basis. The futures part is just the exchanging of paper.
