south central IL | My thoughts as well. The consumer holds the cards nowadays, like it or not. The days of here’s some food, eat it and be happy are ending. The younger generation has never felt food insecurity and is willing to pay a premium for what they think is better for the environment or their bodies. That’s not the only problem with programs like these though. One problem is all of the middle men taking a huge cut from the pie and leaving little for the producer. Another one is corruption and cheating, there will be practices allowed that shouldn’t be and people who try to misrepresent what they’re selling all due to greed.
