Earlville, NY
The barn doesn't look that large, are alley scrapers going to be a cost-effective investment? Sand is really going to increase operating/maintenance of scrapers. Jamesway/Valmetal has a website with some interesting cross-gutter and alley scraper things that may work to get manure into a storage or reception pit to the side at end of the barn. If I were going to pump sand-manure that far I'd probably want a piston pump. Line will need to be deep enough to not freeze, you'll have a lot flow back downhill when you shut pump off unless you have a back flow preventer, then you may have to worry about freezing or sand settling out in pipe etc. With all that investment needed may be as cost effective to build a concrete or plastic-lined storage right at the end of your barn.
