to make an analogy, look at how farming has changed in the last few yrs. you have to have a pesticide license to spray atrazine, to sell cattle you need a bqa certificate or the salebarn wont accept them, to sell hogs you need a pqa and tqa certificate. i support those common sense requirements. however we have gotten compliant with red tape over the years. it wont be too great of leap for the elevator to require you to be "low carbon certified" to dump your grain at some point in the future. to farmers who already no-til, plant cover crops, have equipment with tier 4 engines and a ev pickup .. have a transgender hiredman, :-) if they do all those warm fuzzies, the lemmings probably wouldnt have any sympathy for those of us less deserving neanderthals.

no-til and cover crops are fine and when the kinks are worked out, ill probably do those things when they make sense to me. but until then, ill fight the mandatory aspects of those methods.
