| there are no shortage of marketing types that felt they missed the last tech bubble and intend to get in early. It's being marketed as human intelligence when really it's an aid. No it really won't write a good paper for your phd (but might work in 5th grade). I think it's being over sold. It turned out we don't have flying cars and self driving cars are a ways out (unless the administration eliminates FMVSS standards - so what if it causes even more accidents). For people that don't think much of other humans, AI is somehow their answer to "unwashed masses". As an engineer I see AI as a tool that's a little unreliable right now, but we'll find places where it's an good fit (and no AI girl friends are not a great idea). | |
