Faunsdale, AL | had to hand feed it the flakes and if we ever got some tough hay with thick flakes/charges had to be extra careful. Shear pin didn't shear one day and wrecked a couple u-joint yokes. This was a small pull type machine that i think was supposed to be behind max 90 hp though it always had more than that on it.
really dry hay wasnt hard on it, just sone that had been baled with a little moisture and gone through a sweat or worse.
it had a sort of rudimentary hopper on it for the charges of hay to slide down into the feed rolls. still dangerous looking deal
We took out every other knife leaving 3 and maxed out the chop length.
