NW IA | The Montys I get lately have been from a bottle calf multiplier farm who gets them from a dairy using the Pro-Cross program. A 3-way cross of Holstein, Swedish Red and Montbeliarde. The color and body type can vary a bit by where they are in the rotation, the half Monte's being the thickest.
The local auctioneer calls them, "Bill'rds".
I do like them. They remind me a bit of Swiss in their attitude. Sometimes the auction can be hard to figure out. There are days when they sell quite a bit better than the Stines, and sometimes they are a tie.
