Central SD | Well considering more open cows are caused by low BCS a little extra at this phase of he game is better than not. It does make a difference when they calve. I like to coast the first calvers the last 45 days or so before they calve. Meaning I am not trying to increase bcs in that time frame. The weather here the last 3 weeks has taken a little off of ours here. I am not too concerned as it is going to warm about 30 to 40 degrees for the next couple of weeks. That’s a huge difference on maintenance energy.
