Subject: RE: Feed truck compared to tractor/mixer

Central Nebraska
We’ve had a truck for 35-40 years probably. 1st was a ford 7000 with a harsh box. Traded it in 2012 for a kw300 with a rotomix 420. This truck/box has 5500hr on it and hasn’t needed much. There is about 2wk per year when it would be better to have a tractor/wagon due to mud or snow. We feed at 3 different lots, but only 3 miles apart. This kw has an Allison auto. I think it works fine, we mix while loading plus 5 min probably. It’s nice to unload because you turn pto on and run the gate to get desired quantity. The ford truck had a 5+2speed and had to run the clutch to get box to unload, which meant your leg got a workout when feeding in tires!
