There was a lot of systems out there that would steer cultivators 20 years ago from feelers. Too much trash or too small of corn could make things go south in a hurry.

For the cost involved, I would look into going RTK during planting and using the same equipment to steer during sidedressing.
I know Ag Leader's 7500 antennas on RTK are very accurate. Don't know about other brands. You could upgrade what you have or sell them and buy what you need and be better off than a feeler guided system.
Just my opinion.
