Western-Central Lower Michigan | Hard for us northerners to realize that common building methods would be vastly different in the South but they are. Its common in the South for water pipes to be in the attic (which may or may not have much if any insulation)
Sidewalls, same, little to no insulation.
I have friends who live in Tx, and they have yet to find a home with a full basement. Everything is built on a slab.
