north-central Indiana west of Fulton | When the guy called and said he was ready to get our dairy cows, it was a little sooner than expected, and we had silage left in the silo. There was not a way to haul to other farm and try and feed some to hiefers that I wanted to deal with ….so were searching for other solutions to empty silo. Ended up giving it to my brother in law and a neighbor that used to buy our bulls, and sells beef retail.
I load a 1600 Loadstar for my BIL and my neighbor has a dump trailer, that loads very easily. I hook up a tractor to the trailer and back it in to load, then it get picked up later. Takes probably an hour or more to load. Last time to use the IH 1466 since it has no block heater! I bought it out of Georgia 1 1/2 ago, no need for a heater there!
It’s not going down fast, but it’s working out well.
