Subject: RE: Crockpot chili

South Central MN
The way I have done it the beef gets browned in a skillet first, after that tomatoes of some form (diced, paste, sauce...) beans, spices (usually taco/chili seasoning, could toss in some garlic and/or onion powder) and occasionally corn all gets tossed into the crock pot and stirred together. Last time I did it a couple cups of elbow macaroni got added when it was looking more like soup (had used frozen diced tomatoes from the garden) end result looked more like a hot dish but at least the kids would eat it better. My definition of "chili" sometimes gets a little loose.
