Subject: Relay cropping beans into oats?

NW IL
Because of our overall crop balance for next year we are considering doing a field of beans on beans. One idea we had was to plant oats then try to relay the beans into them. Oats alone won't pay. Back up plan would be to just do cover crop oats, or toss some rye on over the winter, but if the beans will be planted a bit later in the spring to give time for the covers to grow why not try to get 2 crops out of the deal?

Anyone relayed with oats before? Tips?

Yes, wheat would have been more ideal, but that boat has sailed.
