Milford, IL | I presume the "not the smaller copper wires" means the existing wiring in the older home has rather thick insulation (not necessarily a bad thing) and the new light fixture has comparatively thinner insulation and possibly lighter gauge wire.
Yoosta B is correct, its difficult to mess up a ceiling light fixture. If you are unsure maybe ask a knowledgable friend of neighbor to oversee the process for the first time. Its simple enough but having experience in the room can be a big help. | |
