Subject: Shrink Wrap on Equipment

Eastern WA
The neighbor was by the other day and already got his combine back from the dealership's winter overhaul program. He was surprised they took it this early but it sounded like they were pushing to get machines out before harvest this year so they wanted a jump start this winter. Anyways, he doesn't have a shed to keep his machine in and we got to talking about shrink wrapping like a boat to keep the weather off it. Looking online I couldn't find a whole lot of info on it but did find some old posts here on Ag Talk. People were worried about condensation. He was just wanting to cover the top enough to shed any rain or snow, not to necessarily protect the whole thing from the sun. He also threw out calling up Tarp-It and seeing if they could do a tarp over the top of it. I would be concerned about wind whipping the tarps and ropes though.

Has anyone done shrink wrapping? And did you like it or have you gone away from it? Is it something a guy could do himself or more of a hire it done job?

Thanks
