Are you talking grain tank only? Or engine areas, sides? What kind of combine? Some seem to have panels that should give decent protection. Provided you blew out the residue, vacuumed grain tank, few areas.
I have cheap, old combine. It’s in shed.
The idea of a +$80k combine sitting out all year in MN to me seems “wrong” heck I am looking at getting my disc, disc chisel in sheds next year. By selling a couple small gravity boxes. Yes 10 years ago a +200 box was worth something. Now $500 is “good”. ;(
Check around. Retired farmers with shed space might rent reasonable. Make sure your insurance covers.
We rented space in nice shed until we built a 40x80 with decent height.
That summer we decide to rent anyway. Talked to guy. He acted “strange”. Couple excuses that seemed weird.
If he had said no room, anything “ok thanks”
We put in new shed. That winter his nice big shed burned down. Under very strange circumstances. Before it happened we heard he wanted it gone. Well the fire took care of the shed, his grain trucks, a planter all that were insured very well…. We had joked that the shed would burn when he was so strange about us storing it again. He has had strange insurance claims in past.
A car the engine damaged. It catches fire, or rammed into a tree. “wait didn’t he say just yesterday that combine the engine was shot?” Today it’s burned to ground.
