I think if you go to a "Hospital" with an Oncologist, you are most likely going to get "Textbook" treatments for cancer. The Oncologist in our hospital (now retired) told my wife that "going by the book" and treatments (after type of cancer is identified) is almost standard because its a "SYSTEM".
Im sure there are Dr's who are more independent. I guess if I were given a "short term" time to live I'd want somebody to think out of the box, try something, ANYTHING, if I'm going to die going by the book, I'd rather either not take treatments or try something experimental.
