I'm mixing one third medium quality grass hay, one third wet ddgs, or ethanol plant syrup, and one third corn silage, plus a mineral balancer. That all seems to mix well, and allows me to not fool with mineral feeders.
Your idea of using fodder as a delivery method for wet byproducts is a good one in my opinion. I feed some in the winter on frozen ground, and I mix half wet ddgs, and half corn stalks by weight., and it keeps them from tromping it into the ground. |
