Subject: Ratio of hay to wet ddg in vertical mixer

West Central Nebraska - Sandhills
Anyone feed ground hay/stalks mixed with wet distillers out of a vertical mixer on pasture or crop residue as a supplement? We like feeding wet distillers as a supplement but it really doesn’t go far enough, seems to always be 25% of the cows not getting it, and it also gets tromped into ground. Would like to put ground hay or stalk bales into vertical mixer and adding it to wet ddg, but curious as to what ratio works best? So we know what size vertical mixer we would need. For instance if we wanted to feed 300 cows 10lbs each of wet ddg, how much hay would we be wanting to add to that, and therefore how big of mixer? Also like the idea of being able to feed a full ration if stalks snow shut. TIA
