| Similar to you, I had been on Lisinopril for probably 30 years. Ended up with my throat swelling up and soft palate swelling up. Off to the emergency room. It was difficult to breath for a few hours before they could get my throat to open up. It took 8 days to get the swelling down and blood pressure and blood sugar straightened out.
Cardiac doctor said that it was most likely an allergic reaction to Lisinopril. Even after that many years. Not common, but not unheard of.
Went to an allergist to get everything checked out. He said it was probably an allergic reaction to the Lisinopril. They can't test for it to verify it, but again- it happens. I did not have any real allergies to anything else.
Went to my primary care doctor. They had never heard of such a thing...
