East of Broken Bow | My daughter has almost perfect 'ear memory' as I call it. She knows the proper 'thump' sound a good melon should make. We grew a bunch a few years ago, and she'd thump them, cut them open and remembered how the good ones sounded. Since then, we have her pick out the melons, and I don't think she's picked a bad one yet, and the vast majority of the time, they are not just good, but excellent. | |
